Letter to You
from George Ratnavale, Director of ICAS

To all concerned,
We are ICAS (formerly Elevicare). “Elevi” means to raise, lift up, transform. This is not only our name and our commitment but it is our business platform. We are not in the business of maintaining a person. We wish to give all those in our care, the chance to exceed their goals and live as independently as is possible with inspired, tailored, support. We have done our job if our clients progress to a point where they no longer need us.
ICAS specialises in disabled individuals who are transitioning from health or government facilities to independent living. ICAS knows through the stories of its clients, that the extra-ordinary is possible with one on one support, skill identification, goal setting, and development training. And we know how important it is to look beyond outward appearances and presenting behaviours and to treat each person with respect and dignity.
So ICAS focuses on their client’s abilities, what they and their families wish to achieve and what might be possible even beyond their imaginations. Importantly too, ICAS has a nurse co-ordinator who manages and monitors the client’s medical care needs from hospital or organisational accommodation to supported community or independent living.
To help achieve these ends, our tailored support programs include:
- transition from medical or organisational care to home;
- goal setting, plan making and implementation;
- in-home support for personal care, rehabilitation, safety analysis, domestic care and assistance;
- support to participate in community or family activities;
- transportation with consideration;
- assistance ensuring attendance and participation in rehabilitation, medical treatment and outpatient care;
- social integration into community and development of communication skills and networks;
- training and employment re-skilling and support for re-entry to workforce;
- behavioural re-skilling;
- isolation breakers and socialisation support;
- development of life-skills for transition from government or insurance support;
- the pro-active development of capacity and independence;
- reporting to family, medical providers, government, and insurers on likely support needs of the client.
We look forward to working with you and developing a plan to transition, empower and transform.
Kindest regards,
George Ratnavale, Director
